How To Make glazed ham
Test Kitchen Tips
In the Test Kitchen, in the last 15 minutes of baking, we added pineapple rings and cherries and secured them with toothpicks.
Step 1Cut the rind off the ham, if present.
Step 2Score the top surface of the ham and stud with cloves. Place the fat side up on a rack in a shallow baking pan.
Step 3Cover with foil. Bake in a 350 F preheated oven, for approximately 15 minutes per pound, or follow wrapper directions.
Step 4In a bowl, combine sugar, syrup, and mustard. Set 3/4 cup aside.
Step 5In a saucepan, combine the remaining glaze and pineapple with juice. Simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
Step 6With the reserved glaze, baste the ham every 10 minutes during the last 30-45 minutes of baking.
Step 7Serve the pineapple sauce with the slices of ham.
