The “Better-Than-A-Slider” Ritz Sandwiches
These are essentially “miniature Ham and Cheese Sliders,” but the salty-sweetness of the Ritz cracker provides a much more satisfying contrast than a standard bun.

🍴 Ingredients
- 1 box Ritz Crackers (you’ll need about 2 sleeves)
- ½ lb Thinly sliced deli ham (Honey or Smoked)
- ½ lb Swiss cheese (thinly sliced or cut into small squares)
- The Savory Glaze:
- 4 tbsp Butter, melted
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Poppy seeds
- ½ tsp Onion powder
👩🍳 Instructions
1. The Assembly Line
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay out 24–30 crackers (the “bottoms”) on the sheet in neat rows.
2. The Filling
- Cut your ham and Swiss cheese into squares that are slightly smaller than the cracker.
- Fold a small piece of ham onto each cracker, then top with a square of cheese.
- Place another cracker on top to complete the “sandwich.”
3. The Glaze Whisk
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and onion powder.
4. The “Paint” Job
- Using a pastry brush (or a small spoon), lightly coat the top cracker of each sandwich with the butter mixture. Be generous but don’t drown them; you want them to be lacquered, not swimming.
5. The Quick Bake
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. You are looking for the cheese to be completely melted and the edges of the crackers to be a deep, toasted golden brown.
- The Rest: Let them sit for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the butter to “set” so they don’t slide apart when you pick them up.
The “Everything” Twist: If you don’t have poppy seeds, use Everything Bagel Seasoning in the glaze. The dried garlic and onion flakes in the seasoning pair perfectly with the buttery Ritz and salty ham.
